To insure that every Transparent Cable achieves the same musical standards as the original design prototype is no easy task. Every model and every length of Transparent Cable requires a network that is specifically calibrated to meet Transparent's design specifications. Only experienced, highly skilled technicians can consistently manufacture cables to Transparent's standards.

To meet Transparent's exacting tolerances, Betty and Ralph
work together to adjust the network of one channel to match
the measurements of the other channel. Betty and Ralph have
been with Transparent since 1987. They specialize in assembling
Transparent's Premium and Reference level speaker cables.


Transparent's assembly technicians must first measure a specific length and model of cable on extremely accurate digital impedance meters. The technician must then adjust the cable's electrical parameters with precision matched components to make a network that meets the Transparent design standard. Every detail of the position of components and their proximity to each other and their relationship to the cable's signal path are critical. To fully realize the benefits of this precision, all of the constituent parts must be the finest obtainable:

-- the quality of the cable (conductivity, dielectrics, and construction)

-- the sound quality of the network components (initially selected by extensive listening sessions; later, during cable assembly, components are measured and hand selected for close tolerance)

-- highest quality solder and soldering techniques

-- connector design and quality of construction

-- precision assembly and critical parts location

At Transparent, every known variable that could affect performance has been taken into account.
