Transparent is pleased to introduce Reference MM audio cables, which demonstrate the latest advances gained through
our MM Technology. Transparent's MM Technology brings new levels of realism to music and soundtrack playback, due
to its powerful control of resonances and its ability to handle delicate signals without coloration.
Transparent's flagship OPUS MM cables introduced the benefits of MM Technology to the home entertainment market,
and industry professionals have praised their performance ever since. OPUS features breakthroughs in network design,
in passive components, and in superior resonance control through the use of costly, hand made carbon fiber in the network
modules. However, the carbon fiber process used in all OPUS products involves extreme levels of hand work and costly
materials, which must be reflected in the retail price. Following the success of OPUS MM, we decided to re-create our
entire audio product line to deliver the benefits of the new technology, but at a significantly lower level of investment.
Using the OPUS MM shape as a model, Transparent focused on using more cost effective nonmetallic materials in the rest
of the MM line-up that could be molded or machined to achieve this new shape. Our new Reference MM is the finest
example of this: it shares electrical characteristics with OPUS MM and uses the same damped suspension and adjustable
feet to decouple the network from room borne resonance, but delivers them in a much more affordable package. Reference
MM continues the tradition of Transparent Reference and Reference XL, but brings the performance one step closer to the
breathtaking realism of OPUS MM. Reference MM's circuit topology and layout are essentially identical to those of OPUS MM,
but because we use modules made from custom-machined acrylic instead of carbon fiber, we can pass significant savings
on to you. Reference MM will bring years of reliability and emotional satisfaction to any professional or home installation.
For ideal signal transfer, Single-Ended Reference MM is terminated with RCA connectors of our own design and Balanced
Reference MM with the finest XLR connectors available, with gold plated contacts. As always, our cables are made one at
a time, by hand, with painstaking care, and measured over and over for uniform performance as they are built.
Our Reference MM Speaker Cable consists of many heavy strands of individually insulated oxygen-free copper and is
terminated with custom-designed, gold plated spades. The special plinth is machined from solid and supports the
network module and help to isolate it from floor-borne resonances, bringing you a quieter background and more realistic
dynamics. The plinth's feet are also continuously adjustable, to match the contour of any surface.
Reference MM displays ideal low noise, low resonance and low distortion properties in audio signal applications. It achieves
these qualities because of the strengths of MM Technology. Transparent has now incorporated MM Technology into its entire
lineup of audio cables, which represents a complete redesign of over 300 audio cables in our line! The benefits of MM
Technology include new strand size, new tighter-spec components, improvements to layout, more effective damping, and
new network housings. For more information about MM Technology, go here.
